I graduated from Auburn University in 1979 and began working in Bradley County as a speech therapist.  In 1999, I attended Lee University and added an endorsement in special education.  At that time, I became the consulting resource teacher at Black Fox.  In 2002, I began teaching fourth grade and am currently teaching fifth grade.

On a personal note, I graduated from Bradley Central High School and met my husband, Melvin there.   We attended Auburn and graduated from there in 1979.  We will be celebrating our thirty-first anniversary in a few weeks.  He is employed by Pilgrim's Pride.  We have two children, Adam and Laura.  Adam graduated from Carson-Newman two years ago and now works at TVA as an IT administrator. He is married to Traci McAmis.  Our daughter, Laura is a junior at Lee University and is planning on teaching math in middle school.  We attend First Baptist Church in Cleveland where we are actively involved with the senior high students.

My husband and I live on the river and enjoy waterskiing several times a week. We also enjoy having our family and friends visit us.  I also love to read, especially when sitting on the dock!

I began teaching at Black Fox as a speech therapist many years ago. In 1999, I became the consulting resource teacher and then moved into the classroom in 2002.  Since that time, I have taught fourth and fifth grade and can not think of any other profession that would be as rewarding to me as teaching has been.

My family is from Bradley County. My husband of thirty-three years and I both graduated from Bradley Central High.  We then attended Auburn University and graduated in 1979. War Eagle!  We have a son who is twenty-seven and has a degree in computer information systems. Our daughter just turned twenty-two and is now teaching math in middle school.

My family and I love watersports including skiing and wakeboarding and spend many hours on the river. I enjoy having company and being with my family.  My husband and I also teach Sunday school for senior high students.
