I attended East Tennessee State University and graduated in May 2011 with my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education K-6.

I was lucky enough to be hired here at Black Fox in the fall of 2011 as a Reading Assistant. I enjoyed my first year out of college getting to teach reading intervention to all grades here at Black Fox. I knew I wanted to be part of the Black Fox family and this was a special place.

A position came open for me to teach 1st grade the following year. What a fun year that was! The group of 2012-2013 first graders will always hold a special place in my heart.

I was then presented the idea of joining the Kindergarten team and said yes.  I have been in Kindergarten since and absolutely love it. In no other grade level will students come in asking, "when is play time?" (every 5 minutes) and leave reading. It amazes me every year how much these children learn and I am so lucky to have a front row seat to watch it happen!

I was born and raised in Cleveland, Tn. I graduated from Walker Valley High School in 2007, and moved to Johnson City, Tn to attend college at ETSU. After graduation, I came back to my roots and feel really lucky to have found a home here at Black Fox.

I married my husband, Jordan, in 2014. He is also a teacher in Bradley County Schools at Ocoee Middle School. We enjoy traveling in our time off together and have a Golden Retriever who is our big, fluffy child.
